What will I do with
All my free time
They ask
No more rehearsals
No more lines to run
No more contests
As if
I don't do anything else
Let's see
There are papers to grade
Lessons to plan
A showcase night
A banquet
EdCamp is this weekend
I've neglected the committee
There are family and friends
I'd like to see
Iowa Assessments begin tomorrow
Grades are due by the end of the day
What will I do with
All my free time?
Hummmm. read a book, play with Chloe, take a walk. Take some time for yourself - you deserve it. That is after everything you HAVE to do!
ReplyDeleteI hear you, Deb. There's never really any shortage of things to do as a teacher. But, you'll probably still miss it now, right? Although it seems I didn't comment yesterday, I read your slice and it sounds like you all had a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteYou have free time??!!! Not according to your poem you don't! :)
ReplyDeleteTake a deep breath, now tackle the rest of your multitude of activities you have on that to do list. Or don't tackle that list, sit back and relax. You deserve it.
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed that you somehow fit speech into all of those other things, Deb! Of course, it usually happens that you just find a way to squeeze it in somehow, and yet when it's over, the other things just expand to the point that you don't know how you did it! Congratulations on arriving at your slightly-less-busy time of the year! :-)
ReplyDeleteOh Deb, such a lot is still on that list. I feel like it's time for spring break. Hope yours is soon!
ReplyDeleteWhat will you do? Hmm. . . I'm sure you'll find something fun to fill the time!
ReplyDeleteAlways on to what's next, aren't we? I am so glad you squeeze in time to slice and give us this little window into your world!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you will have quite a bit of time on your hands! At least five minutes a day! Spend it wisely!
ReplyDeleteYour poem left me asking: What free time?!?
ReplyDeleteAnd if you did have free time, I know EXACTLY what you would do.
Read more books! :)
